Why learn these movements first? Why not just get swingin’ right away?
Well, when done correctly, kettlebell swings are a violent, ballistic movement. It’s also a hip hinge, so there’s risk of sheer stress on the spine (specifically the lower back) if you get sloppy with your form.
Plus, kettlebell swings are often done for high reps while fatigued. It’s a good approach for fat loss, but if you’re tired and you don’t know how to swing, your form will go to shit and you’ll get hurt.
