tonyb trap barI recently read Gary Vaynerchuk’s book, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook, and there was a quote in there that really stuck with me:

“Content is king, but context is God.”

The more I learn about coaching, the more I realize this statement is undeniably true. If content refers to what coaching cues are used, and context refers to what they mean to your client, the latter is infinitely more important and powerful.

My fellow coaches at Cressey Sports Performance constantly challenge me to be a better coach. They taught me to strive to create context during every coaching situation.
